Hair Today Hope Tomorrow

Last Sunday two women (both named Michelle), cut off a combined 14 years of hair growth, so that it could be made into wigs for children (thanks to a program called Angel Hair). The event, held at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Toronto, was called Hair Today Hope Tomorrow. Through sponsorship and silent auction, $6447 was raised for cancer research and care in Canada (more specifically: Angel Hair, The Canadian Cancer Society, St. Michael's Hospital, and Daffodil Days). When I arrived with my kit, my lovely pal Marci gave me a fake mustache, and a spot in the basement to work (fun!). I then joined the crowd to see some great musicians, and watch as the Michelles had their braids snipped off by their moms. And then as one brave friend shaved the other's head. After that, the cutting was up to me. I'm very glad that I got to be a part of such a great night!
